Grades 7-12: Learn about tatreez and create your own bookmark!

Tatreez, the Arabic word for embroidery, typically refers to a form of cross-stitch practiced by Palestinians and the Palestinian diaspora. This embroidery technique represents regional identities and cultural practices, and has been recognized by UNESCO as an intangible cultural heritage.

Learn about the history of Palestinian tatreez and its contemporary practice, then learn how to create a bookmark using the technique! All supplies provided.

This program is intended for 7th-12th Grade.
