Programming Mini Robots with Blockly

Intro to Ozobot Blockly: Sequences 1-5

Learn how to use the Ozobot Evo! You will get to know your Evo, basic operation, and how to use Blockly's coding sequences from pre-K to master.

The Ozobot Evo is a mini robot that you can program in one of two ways: 1) by using colored markers, or 2) by utilizing block coding from a computer. In this program you will be introduced to the hardware and robotic components of the Ozobot Evo. You will learn the basics of operating the Ozobot Evo including turning it on/off, and calibrating it, and then venture into Blockly coding to program and control your Ozobot. In this activity patrons will learn how to navigate through Ozobot Blockly's five block coding sequences (pre-k to master). Program is limited to 10 participants. 

This program was designed for 2nd grade and up, but younger children may attend if an adult/guardian/caregiver is present to assist them throughout the program. Each child in sixth grade or younger attending the program must be directly supervised and assisted by a responsible caregiver while in the Studio. Most ACPL programs welcome guests, however the Studio programs can only accommodate registered patrons and their supervising caregivers.
