Join us this Black History Month by making your own indigo-dyed textile using traditional techniques.

Did you know the color blue holds deep meaning in Black American history? From indigo dyeing to Blues music, it tells a story of resilience and creativity. Join us this Black History Month to learn about these traditions and make your own indigo-dyed textile using time-honored techniques.

For this craft, participants will be using dye so please dress accordingly.

This program is intended for Adults. Space is limited: register in advance to reserve your spot and receive reminders. Registration will guarantee your seat until the event begins. Accessibility needs? Please contact ask@acpl.info as soon as possible - we’d love to help.

The Georgetown branch is home to a full-service maker lab with a large collection of tools that customers can use to create things. The branch features a public fax machine, study rooms, a meeting room, and a popular collection of materials that includes video games.
