An Introductory Virtual Reality Experience!

Take a walk through history this Fall with the help of Virtual Reality as part of ACPL’s One County, One Book event.

Come in and experience virtual reality at your local library using virtual reality headsets! In this guided program participants will deeply engage with an important chapter of American History, interact with materials and artifacts from ACPL's Rolland Center, and put themselves in Abraham Lincoln’s place as he attempts to navigate the tricky politics of the American Civil War. Limited to 16 participants. 

This program was designed for 2nd grade and up, but younger children may attend if an adult/guardian/caregiver is present to assist them throughout the program. Each child in sixth grade or younger attending the program must be directly supervised and assisted by a responsible caregiver while in the Studio. Most ACPL programs welcome guests, however the Studio programs can only accommodate registered patrons and their supervising caregivers.  

This program is part of the One County, One Book community-wide reading initiative encouraging the community to read and engage with a single book! This year's One County, One Book selection is "Differ We Must: How Lincoln Succeeded in a Divided America" by journalist and NPR host Steve Inskeep. 

This initiative aims to unite people of all ages and backgrounds through programs, book clubs, and a community discussion with the author himself. Click Here to learn more.
