Does your family groan whenever you start talking about family history? Are you looking for some new ideas for sharing your ancestors' photos and stories? Genealogy librarian EvaAnne Johnson will introduce you to a variety of new ideas for sharing your family history in engaging ways. She will share tips for uncovering hidden family stories and making the story interesting. We will explore both online methods, such as blogging, videos, and social media, as well as more traditional options such as compiling a book or oral history.
EvaAnne Johnson is a Genealogy and Local History Librarian in the Chicagoland area, and has been researching her own family history since 1998. She earned a Master of Library and Information Science (MS/LIS) degree from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, and a Bachelor of Arts from Illinois College. She is a member of the Illinois State Historical Records Advisory Board, and a Consultant at the Wilmette FamilySearch Center. In addition to blogging about family history, she also contributes to publications of local historical societies and is in the process of writing a family cookbook.
