Western Pennsylvania was settled by successive waves of people from the mid-18th century onward. These people -- mostly from the far corners of Europe -- brought with them their languages, their beliefs and their culture. Lured to Penn's Woods first by ample land, then by jobs in industries like coal mining and steel manufacturing, these settlers melted together and formed a new land. In "Where Yinz From?," genealogist Trish Buben of Stonycreek Genealogy will share about some of these different groups of people -- where they came from, how they got to western Pennsylvania and how they shaped the region.
