Join us for a day of free genealogy programs!

The Genealogy Education Network is the network of individual libraries and societies participating in this annual event. Each organization hosting their own event is tied together by the shared programs that are presented. Our goals are to provide the public with a free educational opportunity, connect libraries and societies, and showcase the genealogy collections and resources across Texas and beyond.  Email the Genealogy Center for the registration link.

·        10:25 a.m.: Beyond the Family Tree: An Introduction to Oral History for Genealogy (Adrienne Cain Darough)

·        11:20 a.m.: Gen Z + Genealogy: Getting the Younger Generation Interested in Genealogy Research (Carl Smith)

·        12:10 p.m.: Lunch Break

·        1:10 p.m.: Building Your Digital Family History Archive (EvaAnne Johnson)

·        2:05 p.m.” Cluster Research, or Discovering You’re Related to the Whole Block (Jessica M. Trotter)

·        3:05 p.m.: Researching Your Scottish Ancestors (Erika A. Ward)

·        4:05 p.m.: Texas & Southern Genealogy Resources at the Dolph Briscoe Center for American History (Margaret Schlankey)

·        5:05 p.m.: Researching Your Revolutionary War Soldier: A Case Study (Craig R. Scott)

Attend as much or as little of the day as you want. There is so much terrific information provided by knowledgeable presenters. It could definitely be a Friday to remember!
