Everyone has a story worth preserving. The memories, experiences, and everyday moments that make up our lives can become an important legacy for the family and generations who come after us—but only if we take the time to record them.
If you’ve ever thought about writing down your life stories but weren’t sure where to begin, this class is for you. Join instructor Jim Howerton for a supportive, engaging series designed to help you begin documenting the memories and experiences that have shaped your life. Drawing from his own experience preserving his stories for loved ones, Jim will guide participants through the process of turning memories into meaningful written narratives.
Bring a piece of your own writing, an idea you’d like to explore, or a selection of writing that inspires you to share and discuss with the group.
The class will meet every other Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon, with a short break during the holidays, in the Discovery Center on the second floor of the Main Library.
