DNA testing is a powerful tool for genealogy research. However, identifying, understanding and using the information it provides can be challenging. The process is more exciting and useful when you learn tools and tips to process the information.
Join the African American Genealogical Society of Fort Wayne or AAGSFW for this month's Research Tools & Tips: Find DNA Connections with The FAN. Learn how to use the FAN club to find DNA family connections and answer research questions with presenter Adrian Wells.
Adrian Wells, AAGSFW Historian, has been a member of AAGSFW since 2011. His genealogical journey began in 1996 while eating peach cobbler in the kitchen of his cousin Corrinne Mudd-Brooks. She told him "Be proud of your family, and sit and listen when the grown folks are talking because you will learn a lot about the family." That's how he learned about 'The Mudd Family of the United States' by Dr. Richard Dyer Mudd. The book included his Mudd family genealogy submitted by cousin Corrinne. Adrian took the baton to document new generations of the Mudd family. Since then he has uncovered many great things and connected with many family members as a result of his genealogy research and DNA testing.
