Tracing My Viennese Roots after the Holocaust

Irv Adler will share an intriguing story about tracing his Viennese roots while searching for information about his grandmother and family. The discovery of letters written by his grandmother from 1938 to 1941 identified unknown relatives resulting in a poignant reunion. Irv will chronicle his family’s Holocaust story and the path followed to discover, meet, and become acquainted with long lost family members.

Irv is a retired executive with 42 years of technical and business experience. Irv has a PhD and MS in physical chemistry from the University of Michigan, an MBA from Eastern Michigan University and a BA from New York University. Irv has been living in Fort Wayne and has been a member of Congregation Achduth Vesholom for 33 years. Irv started doing research on his Viennese family and the Holocaust in Vienna in 2010. He is a founding member and current President of the Northeast Indiana Jewish Genealogy Society.
