Join us for a special screening of the movie Critical Thinking in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month. The film follows five determined teenagers from an underserved neighborhood in Miami who, guided by an unconventional teacher, fight their way into the National Chess Championship. The story explores perseverance, mentorship, and the power of community.

Synopsis: Miami — 1998. Poverty, broken families, and a prejudiced system push underprivileged youth to the fringes of society. For a magnetic group of teens, chess becomes an equalizer. The Main Library includes six public meeting rooms, a theater, art gallery, underground parking garage, the Genealogy Center, and the Rolland Center for Lincoln Research. Parking in Library lots costs $1/hour with a $7 daily max. ACPL patrons receive the first 3 hours of parking for free.
