Code Farm: Plant a Garden

An introduction to computer coding featuring rotating games and challenges. Code Farm introduces patrons to key computer and robotic concepts used in modern agriculture.

Everyone should have an opportunity to learn about computer science! Coding for fun is an introduction to computer science and uses self-led tutorials over the course of one hour. The goal of the "Hour of Code" tutorials is not to teach everyone to become an expert in computer science, but allows everyone to have fun, improve problem solving skills, logic, reading for understanding, and to be creative. The Code Farm activity is a short series of videos and game-like missions that introduces learners to key computer science and robotics concepts. Participants will build basic programming skills while learning how computing and robotics are used in modern agriculture. Program is limited to 10 participants.   

This program was designed for 2nd grade and up, but younger children may attend if an adult/guardian/caregiver is present to assist them throughout the program. Each child in sixth grade or younger attending the program must be directly supervised and assisted by a responsible caregiver while in the Studio. Most ACPL programs welcome guests, however the Studio programs can only accommodate registered patrons and their supervising caregivers.  

Space is limited: Register in advance to reserve your spot and receive reminders. Registration will guarantee your seat until the event begins.
