Try your hand at 3D paleoart by sculpting a dinosaur of your choice!
Each participant will get a wire armature, a stick figure made of metal wire. After a quick look at how artists use knowledge, extant (non-extinct) animals, and a little guesswork to imagine dinosaurs, you'll enhance your armature with foil then sculpt clay over it to create a fully formed dinosaur to take home. Your palm-sized dino friend will be the perfect addition to your study space or windowsill!
Samples of the air-dry clay will be available at the start of the program, so that participants with additional sensory needs can check out the texture and decide what feels comfortable for them before getting started.
All supplies provided. Limited to 12 participants.
This program is intended for teens. Space is limited: register in advance to reserve your spot and receive reminders. Registration will guarantee your seat until the event begins. Accessibility needs? Please contact ask@acpl.info as soon as possible - we’d love to help.
