In this introductory program, we will teach you about what the Glowforge is, how to use it, and what kinds of projects you can accomplish with it. After learning about the machine overview, we will dive into creating custom earrings! Participants will use the Glowforge design software to engrave and cut sheets of acrylic. Once engraved, we will attach the jewelry. Create a design from scratch using the clipart available in the design space, or create a drawing that the Glowforge can scan and replicate! Familiarity with computers is highly recommended prior to attending this program. Limited to 10 participants.
This program was designed for 6th grade and up, but younger children may attend if an adult/guardian/caregiver is present to assist them throughout the program. Each child in sixth grade or younger attending the program must be directly supervised and assisted by a responsible caregiver while in the Studio. Most ACPL programs welcome guests, however the Studio programs can only accommodate registered patrons and their supervising caregivers.
Space is limited: Register in advance to reserve your spot and receive reminders. Registration will guarantee your seat until the event begins.
