Intermediate Laser Cutting & Engraving

Already familiar with laser cutting? Learn how to operate the Gweike laser cutter by creating a wooden engraved puzzle!

Patrons will learn to operate the Gweike laser cutter, and how to set up their digital project in Lightburn software. Patrons will discover how to engrave an image on a puzzle template, set the correct settings and order of operation in Lightburn, as well as set the focus and origin point in the Gweike Laser. All patrons will leave with thier own custom engraved and cut wooden puzzle. Familiarity with computers is highly recommended prior to attending this program. Limited to 10 participants.

This program was designed for 7th grade and up, but younger children may attend if an adult/guardian/caregiver is present to assist them throughout the program. Each child in sixth grade or younger attending the program must be directly supervised and assisted by a responsible caregiver while in the Studio. Most ACPL programs welcome guests, however the Studio programs can only accommodate registered patrons and their supervising caregivers.
