What do you get when you combine watercolors, concentric circles, and your creativity? Art inspired by Alma Thomas!

Join us as we learn about African-American artist Alma Thomas. No experience is necessary as 4th-6th graders use watercolors to recreate their own versions of Thomas’s piece Splash Down Apollo 13. Come ready to use bright colors, fun patterns, and your own creativity!

About the library

Pontiac Branch shares a campus with the Fort Wayne Urban League and Brightpoint’s Hanna Creighton Head Start. It has a 2 story playscape for children and artwork on the pillars by Theoplis Smith. Don’t miss the stained glass window that was designed by William L. Lupkin Designs and donated by the building’s architect, Alan R.Grinsfelder. The Pontiac Branch is a community destination for neighborhood kids, organizations & clubs, and those in need of computer access.
