Alebrijes

Paint a 3D-printed Alebrije! Alebrijes are statues depicting fantastical animals or chimeras with roots in Mexican folk art.

Come to The Studio at Shawnee to paint your very own Alebrije! In this fun print-and paint-style program, paint a 3D-printed Alebrije with acrylic paints, then further decorate it with paint markers! Exercise your creativity and learn about this Mexican art tradition! All supplies provided. Limited to 10 participants.

This program was designed for 2nd grade and up, but younger children may attend if an adult/guardian/caregiver is present to assist them throughout the program. Each child in sixth grade or younger attending the program must be directly supervised and assisted by a responsible caregiver while in the Studio. Most ACPL programs welcome guests, however the Studio programs can only accommodate registered patrons and their supervising caregivers.  

Space is limited: register in advance to reserve your spot and receive reminders. Registration will guarantee your seat until the event begins.
