A sewing intro for kids! Learn three basic hand sewing stitches, and create a felt plushie donut keychain!
Come to the Maker Lab at the Georgetown Library to learn learn the basics of hand sewing and to create a donut felt plushie keychain. Great for someone whom might have never sewn before. All supplies provided. Limited to 8 participants. This program is intended for youth.
Note: Caregivers/guardians should only register if they plan to participate in the class. Registration is not required for those who plan to assist a participant, or plan to be present in the space due to the age of the participant. Limit to one caregiver or guardian per participant.
Space is limited: register in advance to reserve your spot and receive reminders. Registration will guarantee your seat until the event begins.

From the Maker Lab Rules:
No open footwear such as sandals or flip-flops.
No loose or dangling scarves, jewelry, ribbons, or long hair.
Cargivers of children under 11 must be present the entire time.
All technology, tool, and machine users must sign a release form. Parents/guardians of minors must co-sign form alongside their child.

The Georgetown branch is home to a full-service maker lab with a large collection of tools that customers can use to create things. The branch features a public fax machine, study rooms, a meeting room, and a popular collection of materials that includes video games.
