An introduction to an under-used source for Irish genealogy: the Journal of the Association for the Preservation of the Memorials of the Dead in Ireland (also known as the Journal of the Irish Memorials Association).

These Journals contain a wealth of information that can be useful to genealogists doing Irish research and they are accessible online for free.  In spite of this, many researchers are not aware of them or do not make best use of them.  In this presentation you will discover the potential value of the Journals, learn how to access and navigate them, and pick up tips for getting the most out of them. Presented by Ciara Chivers.

Ciara Chivers is the owner of Shamrock Roots based in Northern Ireland, driven by a passion for helping individuals uncover their family history and connect with their heritage. Ciara is a Qualified Genealogist and earned her MSc (Distinction) in Genealogical, Palaeographic & Heraldic Studies from the University of Strathclyde

With a particular fondness for researching the people and places of Ireland, Ciara boasts extensive experience tracing family trees in Ireland and unraveling the stories of Irish emigrants and their descendants worldwide, including Great Britain, the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and beyond. Her diverse research experience across regions reflects a comprehensive approach to genealogy, making her a valuable resource for individuals seeking to explore their ancestral roots.
