Kristen Merryman, the Digital Projects and Outreach Manager for the North Carolina Digital Heritage Center, will discuss the history of the Center and how they work with over 350 cultural heritage organization partners across the state of North Carolina to make their local history materials available online for anyone to use.
Kristen Merryman is the Digital Projects and Outreach Manager for the North Carolina Digital Heritage Center. She holds over 20 years of experience in the cultural heritage field, with the majority of it in institutions across North Carolina. Her work has primarily been in digitization of archival materials, but she has additional expertise in digital asset management systems, metadata, and what ideal digital access to archival materials should look like, as well as how to best support communities looking to provide online access to their history. She holds an M.S.L.S. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, an M.A. in public history from North Carolina State University, and a B.A. in history and political science from UNC Greensboro.
