Grief is often associated with sadness, yet it is much more complex than feeling melancholy. Understanding the ways grief impacts a person’s mental health can help us offer support to both ourselves and others during the grieving process. Learn how to reduce the negative impacts of grief while experiencing a loss.
This program will focus on what grief is and how it differs from sadness, what different emotions/thoughts/feelings associated with grief, and what helps someone through the grieving process with a component on how you can help someone else.

The Main Library includes six public meeting rooms, a theater, art gallery, underground parking garage, the Genealogy Center, and the Rolland Center for Lincoln Research. Parking at the main library is free if you have a valid library card. If you do not have a library card, parking costs $1/hour with a maximum charge of $7 for the day. Parking tickets must be taken inside the main library for validation and/or payment.
