Join us for a FREE, virtual program on Tuesday, November 8th at 2:30 PM ET!
City directories are an essential resource in genealogy and local history research, but availability can be difficult to determine, formats vary, and access might be tricky to navigate. Learn about collections of U.S. city directories at the New York Public Library and elsewhere. Presented by Andy McCarthy.
Andy McCarthy is a reference librarian in the Irma and Paul Milstein Division of U.S. History, Local History, and Genealogy at New York Public Library. A former news researcher at ABC News, McCarthy also worked 8 years as a New York City doubledecker bus tour guide, conducting about 3,000 tours for 90,000 passengers.
