Explore the basics of 3D printing and journey through the process of digital design to finished printed project using TinkerCAD and the Studio's Prusa Printers.
Get a taste of 3D printing by making your own mini Jack-O'-Lantern! Come to the Studio at Hessen Cassel to learn about designing 3D Models on TinkerCAD Software, using 3D Slicer Software, and printing on a 3D printer. Participants will create a custom JAck-O'Lanterns online in TinkerCAD, and the be able to print it out on the Studio's 3D printer. Jack-O'-Lanterns that will be translucent orange; each one will also have a battery-operated tea light that will be inserted into the project after printing. Familiarity with computers is highly recommended. Limited to 10 participants.
This program was designed for 2nd grade and up, but younger children may attend if an adult/guardian/caregiver is present to assist them throughout the program. Each child in sixth grade or younger attending the program must be directly supervised and assisted by a responsible caregiver while in the Studio. Most ACPL programs welcome guests, however the Studio programs can only accommodate registered patrons and their supervising caregivers.
