We will discuss a brief history of Día de los Muertos, the significance of ofrendas, and the elements used to create them. Then we will make miniature ofrendas in a shoebox that can be taken home to keep and display.
An ofrenda is a place where we honor our loved ones who have passed away whether that's friends, family members, or even pets! Feel free to bring a photo of your loved one with you, or you can add it later when you bring your project home. All other supplies will be provided.
This program is intended for Grades 7-12.
Space is limited; register in advance to reserve your spot and receive reminders. Registration will guarantee your seat until the event begins. Accessibility needs? Please contact ask@acpl.info as soon as possible - we’d love to help.
