Join us for a FREE virtual program at 2:30 p.m. ET!

Southern genealogy presents unique challenges—burned counties, migrations, name variations, and tangled kinship networks. This presentation breaks down practical strategies for overcoming these obstacles using records, regional context, and social history. Attendees will learn how to approach Southern research methodically, interpret clues, and build out difficult ancestral lines.

Kelsey Kirby is a genealogist, historian, and founder of Southern Charm Genealogy. She specializes in Southern U.S. research, pedigree collapse, royal and medieval ancestry, and social history storytelling. Kelsey blends traditional genealogy with historical context to help families understand not just who their ancestors were, but the world they lived in. She shares educational content across social media and is passionate about making genealogy accessible, accurate, and engaging for all learners.
