Come to the Studio at Main to create custom winter magnets that will be printed on the Studio's 3D printer. We will review the basics of 3D printing, before learning about more advanced printing processes. Participants will find a design on Printables.com, which will then be uploaded and modified in TinkerCAD. Finally, we’ll move over to Prusa Slicer and experiment with the “pause print” feature, which stops the print and allows us to physically install a magnet into the print. Participation in Intro to 3D Printing or previous familiarity with CAD software and 3D printing is highly recommended prior to attending this program. Limited to 10 participants.
This program was designed for 7th grade and up, but younger children may attend if an adult/guardian/caregiver is present to assist them throughout the program. Each child in sixth grade or younger attending the program must be directly supervised and assisted by a responsible caregiver while in the Studio. Most ACPL programs welcome guests, however the Studio programs can only accommodate registered patrons and their supervising caregivers.
Space is limited: Register in advance to reserve your spot and receive reminders. Registration will guarantee your seat until the event begins.
