Can you build Rapunzel's tower then create a pulley system so her locks can remain free? Join us for a fairy-tale STEM challenge!

This session of STEM Challenge will combine the beloved fairytale, Rapunzel, with an engineering lesson on simple machines! Children ages 6-11 will be tasked with designing and building Rapunzel's tower using Strawbees—a unique construction set made from recyclable materials and paper straws. Participants will then create a pulley system so Rapunzel will no longer be required to "let down her long hair" for deliveries or guests to enter the tower. 

Younger children are welcome to attend but will be provided an alternative building material (such as wooden blocks or LEGO Duplos).

The Dupont branch, one of the largest and busiest branches, is located in a bustling shopping center in the ever-growing northwest part of the county. In addition to storytimes four days a week, it offers a wide variety of programs for children, teens, and adults.
