Transkribus is the leading platform for the automatic recognition of text and the extraction of information from historical documents.
However, it is not just a technology — it is also a tool that bridges the gap between manuscripts and the digital world, between history and algorithms. Transkribus opens up new possibilities for working with handwritten materials, whether you are exploring family history, researching local heritage or preserving archival collections.
The platform's advanced AI models can recognise a wide range of languages and historical scripts, helping users to convert handwritten sources into accessible digital texts while saving time and improving accuracy.
In this session, Helene Prokop from the Transkribus team will guide you through the platform’s key features, including how to upload documents, apply AI models for automatic transcription, and train custom models tailored to your specific needs. You’ll learn practical tips to streamline your research process and make your historical documents more accessible and searchable.
