Hours for the Studio at Hessen Cassel!

The Studio at Hessen Cassel is open for patrons!

The following machines are available for personal projects: Cricut Maker 3, Cricut Autopress, Cricut Brightpad, Prusa Mk4S 3D Printer, Laminator, Button Maker, and Janome Sewist 500 Sewing Machine. Up to five (5) Library laptops are available for checkout and offer both Cricut Design Space and Prusa Slicer softwares, but you are free to bring your own device as well for use with Library machines. If you are using a library computer, please bring a personal data storage device (USB drive) to save your work. Open Hours are intended for elementary ages, teens, and adults. Each child in sixth grade or younger attending Studio Hours must be directly supervised and assisted by a responsible caregiver while in the Studio.

Studios have some materials available for purchase for projects, but we highly recommend bringing your own materials for your projects (vinyl, cardstock, blanks, fabric, thread, etc.). 3D printers can only print using the filament provided by the library. 

  • No registration required. Machines are first-come, first-served.
  • All minors (17 and under) who would like to use the Studio at ACPL must have a participation release signed by a parent/guardian on file.

About the library

Situated on the edge of a busy city neighborhood and within easy driving distance of farms and country-dwellers, Hessen Cassel Branch has been a lifeline for the community since its doors opened in 1972. The library serves as a meeting place for customers of all ages, and is heavily used after school. Hessen Cassel Branch intentionally supports the developmental needs of customers of all ages. From wooden blocks, puppets, and play clothes for children; to classes on art techniques, budgeting, and Allen County history; to an ever-changing collection of print, AV, and electronic materials; we serve a dynamic neighborhood that is rich in cultural and ethnic diversity.
