Create your own sand art as you learn about the traditions of sand painting done by the Native American tribes of the Southwest.

Sand painting has long been a tradition in Southwestern tribes. Create your own sand art as you learn about the importance of the art done by the Navajo and other Southwestern tribes. All supplies provided. This program is intended for K-3rd Grade and 4th-6th Grade. Limited to 15 participants.

About the library

Pontiac Branch shares a campus with the Fort Wayne Urban League and Brightpoint’s Hanna Creighton Head Start. It has a 2 story playscape for children and artwork on the pillars by Theoplis Smith. Don’t miss the stained glass window that was designed by William L. Lupkin Designs and donated by the building’s architect, Alan R.Grinsfelder. The Pontiac Branch is a community destination for neighborhood kids, organizations & clubs, and those in need of computer access.
