Join us for a FREE virtual program on April 15th at 2:30 p.m. ET!

This session will provide a summary of the history of Montana and its settlement, as well as an overview of the various libraries, societies and archives that researchers should be aware of. Then we will cover resources and tips for researching your ancestors in the Big Sky State.

Desirée Funston is a reference and genealogy librarian at Missoula Public Library and the president of the Montana State Genealogical Society. She has lived in Montana all her life, with six generations before her. She and her husband live in the beautiful Bitterroot Valley with two cats and twelve chickens. She enjoys hiking, gardening, knitting, reading, and of course, researching her family history.
