Celebrate Arab American Heritage Month by embarking on a captivating introductory virtual reality adventure that brings the vibrant and diverse culture of the Arab world to life!
Journey through ancient cities in North Africa, marvel at the gleaming skyscrapers of the Arabian Peninsula, and explore the famed locations of the Levant. This immersive virtual reality experience offers a unique opportunity to discover a region brimming with rich histories, stunning landscapes, and enduring traditions.
Using Virtual Reality headsets and handcontrollers, your ACPL guide will lead you through iconic 360 degree destinations, from Mauritania’s desert towns to the ultra-modern skyline of Doha, sharing fascinating insights into the people, customs, art, history, and spiritual traditions that define the Arab world. As a thrilling finale, take a skydiving leap into the heart of Dubai, soaring over one of the world’s most futuristic cities! The program will also highlight the achievements of famous Arab Americans whose contributions continue to shape our world. Limited to 16 participants.
This program was designed for 4th grade and up, but younger children may attend if an adult is present to assist them. Children in sixth grade or younger must be directly supervised by a responsible parent, guardian, or caregiver while in the Studio. Supervising adults do not need to register for the program.
Space is limited: Register in advance to reserve your spot and receive reminders. Registration will guarantee your seat until the event begins.

The Georgetown branch is home to a full-service maker lab with a large collection of tools that customers can use to create things. The branch features a public fax machine, study rooms, a meeting room, and a popular collection of materials that includes video games.
