This presentation is called "Digging for Gold in the U.S. Census Records" and will address how to dig deeper for clues among all the columns on the census page.  It is oriented to the beginning researcher.  An ancestor's census data can point to migration paths, family composition and relationships, immigration, naturalization, occupations, religious affiliation, FAN club clusters, plus land, court, and military records.  Just like panning for gold, a family historian might see specks of "gold" that can be built into family stories with further research.

Marcia Stewart is a lifelong resident of Nebraska with over 50 years of experience as a family historian. Experienced in combining traditional research with genetic genealogy, solving family mysteries is a favorite pursuit. She teaches genealogy classes at the local community college, is on the board of directors for her local genealogy society, and is president of the Great Plains Chapter of the Association of Professional Genealogists.
