David G. Vanderstel, Ph.D. has been a practicing historian for over four decades, specializing in 19th century US history, Dutch immigration, Indiana and Indianapolis history, and public history. He has served as senior historian at Conner Prairie; senior research associate at The Polis Center at IUPUI; adjunct assistant professor in the IUPUI History Department; and worked as a consultant on numerous projects related to the teaching of history and historic preservation.
