Celebrate Black History Month with artist Charlotte Smith as you create a beautiful butterfly artwork.
Butterflies appear in African-American art and folklore, including the folktales collected by Zora Neale Hurston. They often symbolize transformation and balance. Artist Charlotte Smith will show you how to make your own beautiful paper roll butterfly artwork. A simplified version of the project will be available for younger children.
Space is limited: register in advance to reserve your spot and receive reminders. Registration will guarantee your seat until the event begins. Accessibility needs? Please contact ask@acpl.info as soon as possible - we’d love to help.
