Learn how to forage for food in an urban environment. Attendants will identify common edible plants, in downtown Fort Wayne, with the help of certified wild food forager, Carrie Vrabel.
As you forage for your own food, you will have the opportunity to taste some wild edible plants, learn how they can be used for food and medicine, and when and how to harvest them. Carrie Vrabel, who teaches regularly at state and county parks, is certified by the state of Indiana as a Wild Mushroom Identification Expert and is the founder of Wild Edible Indiana. She will be leading this session September 17th, from 1 pm-3 pm, at Freimann Square and Promenade Park. Bring your comfy shoes as we will be walking from the library to the parks.
