Join us at the Main Location of the Allen County Public Library on Wednesday, February 1st to kick off Black History Month. We will be joined by Dr. Kristal Walker, from Sweetwater in Ft. Wayne.

As businesses continue to expand their diversity, equity & inclusion initiatives, an important element of their work will involve increasing the cultural intelligence (CQ) among the general employee population. As we kick off Black History Month, this session will introduce participants to the concept of CQ and how to use this approach to build personal and professional relationships in the workplace, specifically with African-American employees.

Join us following Dr. Kristal Walker's talk for a reception in the Theater lobby. Refreshments will be served. 

Dr. Kristal Walker has worked in the learning, leadership, and organizational development space for over 15 years helping clients engage people, apply processes, and implement technology to improve human and organizational performance. She currently serves as the vice president of employee well-being at Sweetwater Sound, where she is responsible for crafting and leading wellness, diversity and inclusion (D&I), and training initiatives. She is also a Training Industry Courses instructor, where she teaches the CPTM designation, as well as a few additional courses, including new D&I Inclusion workshop for which she authored. When it's all said and done, she takes great pleasure in being the wife to her loving and supportive husband, and the mother to her amazing children.
