Expand your horizons with the University of Saint Francis Lecture Series, hosted by the Allen County Public Library!
Northeastern Indiana rivers and lakes are home to dozens of mussel species, which have beautiful shells, fascinating life-histories and great value to the ecology of our rivers and lakes. Many of the 300+ species of American freshwater mussels are threatened or endangered, but efforts are underway to conserve them for our grandchildren to enjoy. Dr. Pryor will discuss a study that he and his students conducted in 2008 showing changes to the mussel community from over a century ago.
