In January 1969, the Black Panther Party began the Free Breakfast for School Children program in Oakland, CA to cook and serve food to poor inner-city youth. The program was such a success that by the end of the year, the Panthers had set up kitchens across the nation, feeding 10,000 children every day before school. Join us to celebrate this important social program and learn more about the Black Panthers.
