Cultural Display
Transport yourself to Japan during the month of May. A selection of 3D works created by the students of Ms. Freeman’s and Mrs. Stanley-Hoelle’s Social Studies class at Blackhawk Middle School will be on display at the Georgetown Library. This exhibit highlights Japanese culture in celebration of Asian Pacific Islander month. The month of May was chosen to commemorate the immigration of the first Japanese to the United States on May 7, 1843. The exhibit will be available for viewing during normal library hours.
The Georgetown branch is home to a full-service maker lab with a large collection of tools that customers can use to create things. The branch features a public fax machine, study rooms, a meeting room, and a popular collection of materials that includes video games.
