Make a DIY Cardboard Hand

Create your own STEAM mechanical cardboard hand called "grabby." This a fun biomedical engineering activity in which you design your first prototype prosthetic hand.

This a fun mechanical or biomedical engineering STEAM activity and creative art exploration in which you design your first prototype prosthetic hand made of cardboard. Also imagine how your real hand allows you to grab objects.  This project will have weight limits such as small light objects but this gives you more ideas to improve your hand with other materials.  All the supplies you will need is listed below.

Supplies

* Cardboard

* Straws (Flexible Straw Optional)

* Ruler

* Pen or Marker or Pencil

* Tape Double Sided

* Rubber bands

* Scissors or Xacto Knife

* String or Yarn or Flexible String

* Glue Gun and Glue

* Small Zip Ties for fingers (Optional)

* Velcro (Optional)
