Learn how to make a tote bag with the sewing machine and how to make a 3D printable medallion to sew on to the bag.
Learn how to use the sewing machine to make a tote bag and how to use a 3D printer to make a medallion to go on the outside. Participants should have taken Sewing 101 or 3D Printing 101. If the participant can operate a sewing machine independently, they can also take this class. Registration is required, and will guarantee you a spot in the class. Maximum of 3 participants. Space is limited, so please register for all programs online, on the ACPL mobile app, or by calling any library location. Registration opens 1 month prior to each event.
From the Maker Lab rules:
1. Please arrive promptly. If you arrive more than 15 minutes late, you will need to reschedule.
2. No open footwear such as sandals or flip-flops.
3. No loose or dangling scarves, jewelry, ribbons, or long hair.
4. Parents of children under 12 must be present the entire time.
The Georgetown branch is home to a full-service maker lab with a large collection of tools that customers can use to create things. The branch features a public fax machine, study rooms, a meeting room, and a popular collection of materials that includes video games.
