Party like it’s Ninteen Eighty Nine (or earlier)! Listen to music, chat with friends, create unique content to share using cut and paste techniques to produce print media, play games and make art.
Do you like listening to music, playing games and making art? Come to Analog Awesome.
We will have a portable record player and a stack of old records, a bunch of art supplies and some games and toys to play with. Have fun like children of the Dark Ages, when there weren't multiple computers in every room of the house, and a telephone only made phone calls.
Make your own 1980s period authentic "social media": the Zine, which is like a small "magazine" (a printed, generally staple bound, paper publication).
Play with archaeological relics of yesteryear such as Jacks, Marbles, Twister, Etch-A-Sketch, Colorforms and ViewMaster.
Play outdated music on a small turntable.
Have fun and interact with other people without a computer.
Analog Awesome will be appearing several times at different locations throughout the system. Check our calendar. Registration is not explicitly required, but is strongly encouraged.
The Tecumseh branch has been on State Blvd. since 1928, and is a favorite walking destination for the surrounding neighborhoods.
Parents and children can play and learn together in the colorful Early Literacy active play center, located in the children’s area of this branch
