Already familiar with the basics of 3D Printing using the Studios' Prusa Printers? Upskill by learning how to turn a photo into a 3D panel that reveals its image when lit from behind.

Come to the Studio at Main to create a winter-themed 3D lithophane image. Participants will learn how to transform a digital photo into a 3-dimensional model that is ready to print. A lithophane is printed in varying thicknesses and degrees of transparency, so that the finished panel reveals a hidden image when light is shined on it from behind. After creation and programming in Prusa Slicer, participants will be able to print their panel using on one of the Studio's 3D printers. Participation in Intro to 3D Printing or previous familiarity with CAD and Slicer software and Prusa Printers is highly recommended prior to attending this program. Limited to 10 participants.

This program was designed for 2nd grade and up, but younger children may attend if an adult/guardian/caregiver is present to assist them throughout the program. Each child in sixth grade or younger attending the program must be directly supervised and assisted by a responsible caregiver while in the Studio. Most ACPL programs welcome guests, however the Studio programs can only accommodate registered patrons and their supervising caregivers.

Space is limited: Register in advance to reserve your spot and receive reminders. Registration will guarantee your seat until the event begins.

Accessibility needs? Please contact ask@acpl.info as soon as possible - we’d love to help.
