Learn the steps of preparing to sew quilted leaf coasters. Later, bring your prepared items to the Studio's Open Hours to use our Sewing Machine or Hand Sewing Tools to finish your project.
Learn where to start with your own sewing projects by preparing materials and patterns for quilted leaf coasters. Patrons will learn how to read patterns, select fabric and thread, and have everything ready to sit down at a machine and sew. There is no sewing done within this program, only the steps leading up to sewing (machine or hand). Patrons will receive the supplies and knowledge to finish their project during Studio open hours. Limited to 10 participants.
This program was designed for 7th grade and up, but younger children may attend if an adult/guardian/caregiver is present to assist them throughout the program. Each child in sixth grade or younger attending the program must be directly supervised and assisted by a responsible caregiver while in the Studio. Most ACPL programs welcome guests, however the Studio programs can only accommodate registered patrons and their supervising caregivers.
Space is limited: Register in advance to reserve your spot and receive reminders. Registration will guarantee your seat until the event begins.

Pontiac Branch shares a campus with the Fort Wayne Urban League and Brightpoint’s Hanna Creighton Head Start. It has a 2 story playscape for children and artwork on the pillars by Theoplis Smith. Don’t miss the stained glass window that was designed by William L. Lupkin Designs and donated by the building’s architect, Alan R.Grinsfelder. The Pontiac Branch is a community destination for neighborhood kids, organizations & clubs, and those in need of computer access.
