Visit the Studio at Georgetown to learn intermediate 3D printing techniques and to create a Fossil Magnet! You will first browse through a list of various vertebrate, arthropod, and cephalopod fossils. After selecting one you like, upload to Prusa Slicer and customize with a number of different features: make the design multicolor, insert negative space for a magnet, and add "Fuzzy Skin" for texture. Participation in Intro to 3D Printing or previous familiarity with CAD software and 3D printing is highly recommended prior to attending this program. Limited to 10 participants.
This program was designed for 2nd grade and up, but younger children may attend if an adult/guardian/caregiver is present to assist them throughout the program. Each child in sixth grade or younger attending the program must be directly supervised and assisted by a responsible caregiver while in the Studio. Most ACPL programs welcome guests, however the Studio programs can only accommodate registered patrons and their supervising caregivers.
Space is limited: Register in advance to reserve your spot and receive reminders. Registration will guarantee your seat until the event begins.
