Have thoughtful discussions about amazing novels with other tweens and experience a variety of literary genres.

March: “A Wrinkle in Time,” a science fantasy story by Hope Larson. A graphic novel adaptation of the classic tale in which Meg Murry and her friends become involved with unearthly strangers and a search for Meg's father, who has disappeared while engaged in secret work for the government. 


April: “Escape From Mr. Lemoncello’s Library,”
a mystery by Chris Grabenstein. When Kyle Keeley learns that the world’s most famous game maker, Luigi Lemoncello, has designed the town’s new library and is having an invitation-only lock-in on opening night, he’s determined to be there! But the tricky part isn’t getting into the library—it’s getting out.


May: "How to Train Your Dragon," by Cressida Cowell.
This story inspired a movie see if the book is even better when you read the adventures and misadventures of Hiccup Horrendous Haddock the Third as he tries to pass the important initiation test of his Viking clan, the Tribe of the Hairy Hooligans, by catching and training a dragon.

All books are available at the library or through the Libby app in print and audio. Participants need to read
or listen to the novels before attending.

About the library

The New Haven branch received a brand new building in 2004, relocating from its old location on the corner of Ann St. and Main St. The library is surrounded by houses and is within walking distance of four schools. The library houses many of the previous years of the New Haven High School yearbooks and many books and primary resources on New Haven history. Special collection: Board games
