Learn the craft of paper beads and explore the work of Ugandan artist Sanaa Gateja.

Participants will learn about the craft of making paper beads and how women in Uganda are using this craft to create their own businesses. Participants will explore the work of Ugandan artist Sanaa Gateja and discover how he has used paper beads to create works of fine art. Attendees will then experience the craft by making their own paper bead bracelets.

About the library

Monroeville is a recommended rest stop by Adventure Cycling. Each summer around 70 cross-country cyclists from many different countries visit Monroeville, with many visiting the library to use our WIFI. Customers from the surrounding area enjoy the branch’s Large Print collection, Scooby-Doo DVDs, and their Monroeville-focused genealogy collection.
