In this webinar, we will go through the process to prove a maternal third great grandmother with autosomal DNA. This case study will include identifying the maternal line of my adopted mother, analyzing and clustering DNA matches, documenting lineage, DNA citations, writing findings, and further resources. Registrants can expect to learn about how to use DNA as evidence to identify and prove lineage and methods of documentation.
When I took a DNA test, I discovered I could identify my mother’s mysterious parents. My mother was adopted in Los Angeles back in the 1920s and had never known the origins of her biological family. DNA analysis and many hours studying family trees and evidence led me to the discovery of my maternal grandparents. This journey led me to become a professional genealogist. I have achieved Level One of ICAPGen and look forward to achieving full AG® accreditation soon. I specialize in the Upper South region of the United States, which includes Kentucky, North Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia. I look forward to sharing new insight with you and helping you to provide deeper connections to your lineage!
