Sprite Lab Animation

An introduction to computer coding featuring rotating games and challenges. This session participants will learn the basics of computer science by programming in Sprite Lab.

Everyone should have an opportunity to learn about computer science! Coding for fun is an introduction to computer science and uses self-led tutorials over the course of one hour. The goal of the "Hour of Code" tutorials is not to teach everyone to become an expert in computer science, but allows everyone to have fun, improve problem solving skills, logic, reading for understanding, and to be creative. This builds a great foundation for learning computer languages and how to write a code for younger ages. In this session of Coding for Fun participants will use a Sprite Lab which is a tool you can use to build imaginative and fun projects. Students will learn to create and animate their sprites. Program is limited to 7 participants.   

This program was designed for 2nd grade to 6th grade, but younger children may attend if an adult is present to assist them. Children in sixth grade or younger must be directly supervised by a responsible parent, guardian, or caregiver while in the Maker Lab. Supervising adults do not need to register for the program. 

Space is limited: Register in advance to reserve your spot and receive reminders. Registration will guarantee your seat until the event begins.
